The Tendring Stars Awards is held annually by TDC to celebrate the talent, commitment and innovation of individuals and teams among us – our stars!
Nominations for the 2026 awards are now open, you can nominate from Tuesday, 4 November 2025 until Monday, 24 November 2025.
They will soon be shortlisted by a judging panel who will pick the winners in all but two categories.
You can vote from, Monday, 1 December until Monday, 15 December for your choice in the "Valued Colleague" and "Rising Star" categories to help decide the winner.
The top two finalists in each category will be invited to attend the glitzy Tendring Stars Awards Ceremony in the Princes Theatre on Tuesday, 24 February 2026.
Also invited to attend are some of the council's longest-serving employees.

Chief Executive Award
Celebrating someone who has gone above and beyond in their role and deserves recognition for an exceptional contribution.
Leader of the Council Award
This award recognises a management-level individual who leads by example and inspires others through their actions. They demonstrate a clear vision, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful change aligned with the Council’s values and strategic priorities. Whether by guiding teams, championing innovation, or improving how we work, they create a positive and impactful environment that brings people together and moves the organisation forward.
Bright Beginnings
This award recognises a staff member who joined TDC within the last 18 months (as of 24th February 2026) and has already made a strong, positive impact. Whether through fresh ideas, outstanding support, or simply going above and beyond, this person has quickly become a valued part of the team.
Learner of the Year
This award celebrates a learner who has shown outstanding dedication, growth, and achievement while completing their qualification. Through hard work, resilience, and a passion for learning, they’ve made a lasting impression and are a shining example of future potential.
Individual finalists can bring up to three guests of their choice, including family members. Although, please note that due to the nature of this event, it is not suitable for very young children.
Teams will be able to invite up to five members of their team. We regret that due to managing numbers of attendees, team finalists will not be able to invite family members to attend.
